About Plunge Collective

We're a small editorial team that tests cold plunge tubs, reads the research, and writes honest guides to help you make informed cold water therapy decisions.

Plunge Collective started because we were frustrated. Every cold plunge review we found online read like a product listing, not an honest assessment. So we decided to build the resource we wished existed when we were shopping for our own setups.

What We Do

We test cold plunge tubs and related equipment in real conditions. We track water temperatures over time, measure energy consumption, assess insulation and build quality, and use each tub for weeks before forming an opinion. Our reviews are based on hands-on experience, not spec sheets.

Beyond product reviews, we cover the science behind cold water immersion. We read the peer-reviewed literature so you don't have to, and we translate findings into practical recommendations. When the evidence is mixed or unclear, we say so.

How We Test

Our testing process is straightforward and consistent across every product we review:

  • Temperature tracking: We measure water temperature at multiple intervals over 24-hour periods to verify manufacturer claims and assess heat gain.
  • Build quality inspection: We examine materials, seams, fittings, and overall construction. We document any defects or areas of concern.
  • Setup assessment: We time and document the full setup process, noting any tools or modifications required.
  • Extended use: Each product is used for a minimum of three weeks before we publish a review. First impressions are useful, but durability matters more.
  • Cost analysis: We track energy costs where applicable and factor in ongoing maintenance expenses, not just the purchase price.

Affiliate Disclosure

Plunge Collective earns revenue through affiliate partnerships with retailers. When you click a product link on our site and make a purchase, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you.

Our affiliate relationships never influence our editorial content. We have recommended against popular products when our testing didn't support the hype, and we have highlighted budget options over premium alternatives when the value was clearly better. Our revenue model depends on your trust, and we take that seriously.

Editorial Independence

We do not accept payment for reviews. We do not allow manufacturers to approve or edit our content before publication. When a company provides a product for testing, we disclose that in the review. Our opinions are our own, and they are formed through direct experience with the products we cover.
